Looking for a place to hang out this weekend?

Redno 5 is one of Chicago's Hottest Clubs. Recently Nicole Standberry visited the club. Her take on the club is below.

Chic Friday night party held at one of Chicago’s hottest club, Redno 5 located at 440 N. Halsted.
Upon entering, red florescent lights beamed from the ceiling which helped accent the white candles that surrounded the tables in VIP. The aroma was invigorating as sexiness filled the room. The ambiance of the club had a 1920’s theme with vintage wall décor and antique crystal and black chandeliers. A black curtain shadowed the black wooden bar that coordinated with the black and gold pillars.

The club was promoted by Teddy Gilmore, founder of ClubNet. Teddy has been promoting clubs for the past 14 years. His very first venue started at a backyard party and he continues his success even today. He promotes 2 to 3 nights out of the week ranging from clubs such as Green Dolphin, Ontourage, and Victor Hotel. Not only does Teddy promote parties, he does comedy shows, concerts, and fundraisers.

It was an African American crowd. Men and women mingled as bar tenders filled their glasses with Patron. A few men bordered the wall in isolation, until house DJ Clent rocked the crowd with late 80’s music sensation Biv Bev Devoe “Poison”. Continued from the hype of “Poison”, the crowd danced to old school “I Cant Understand That” by Bobby Womack. To keep the dancing flowing, DJ Clent played songs from hip hops best rappers Jay-Z and Lil Wayne.

Tamika Mack, 22, South Side, said, “This is my first time here and I am really enjoying myself. It’s sophisticated and sexy at the same time.”

Around 11:30 p.m., the sexy crowd began to fill to capacity and paraded onto the wooden floor. Women seductively danced as the men caressed behind them to “Blow the Whistle” by Too Short.

Women dressed in provocative clothing with tight, short dresses revealing legs and showing off the latest trend in fashion, skinny jeans. Some men dressed conservatively with hard pointed shoes, jeans and a button down shirt. Others rocked street style fashion with True Religion jeans and Chuck Taylors.

Ebony Davis, 25, Englewood who sat in VIP said, “It is my birthday and I am here just to have a great time. I’ve been here before and they play really good music.”

The classy event was an overall success. The crowd was not disruptive which allowed everyone to have a great time!
